At Nunnery Wood High School, we see the arts as an essential element of every child’s education. Music, Dance and Drama are taught throughout Key Stage Three and are popular subjects at GCSE where outcomes are strong. Performances and shows contribute hugely to school life and offer life-changing experiences to our students.
The Performing Arts benefit from their own area that offers facilities that are rare in a state school. Separate Dance and Drama studios used for teaching combine to form a theatre for performances - complete with control room and orchestra pit. Music is taught in a suite that includes classrooms, practice rooms and a recording studio. The department is exceptionally well-supported with IT and instruments.
Our students enjoy their timetabled lessons in this faculty and the quality of teaching is very strong.
