A week of Assemblies and activities reinforcing the message that we will not have bullying at Nunnery Wood High School. It is also national anti-bullying week and the national focus is on cyber-bullying. E-Safety Briefings As part of the Week, we are hosting two E-Safety Briefings for parents where you can learn more about how to keep your children safe when they use the internet. This year, we are delighted that the Briefings will be given by Karina Gibson, Microsoft UK's Consultant Citizenship Manager. They are on: Wednesday 18th November at 3:45pm and again at 6:00pm in the School Hall. Each briefing will last about an hour. If you woud like to come, but have not already returned a reply slip (either to us or to one of our feeder primary schools) then just drop an email to

Well done to the year 10 netball team who played brilliantly yesterday afternoon to win the game 10 - 3. There was some excellent shooting from Gemma Heason and Megan Thompson but the player of the match was Harriette Catchpole for her outstanding effort in defence. The team have been working hard in training and it seems to be paying off. Congratulations.

Year 7 Boys Football Nunnery Wood High School 2 - 0 Blessed Edwards |
|
Wednesday, 14 October 2009 |
Nunnery Wood High School Year 7 boys football team got the new season off to a great start with victory against local rivals Blessed Edwards. This was the first match for the newly assembled year 7 team demonstrating great potential for the forthcoming season. The first half saw NWHS playing uphill against a strong head wind however that didn't affect their performance... With 4 clear chances within the first 10 minutes it was clear that NWHS were the stronger of the two teams. Nevertheless, despite some excellent chances created by Jack Thurman and Will Stallard from centre midfield NWHS were unable to make the most of their pressure and went into half time with the tie scoreless The second half saw NWHS camped in the Blessed half. With Nunnery creating a number of goal scoring opportunities. The game changed for the better when Patrick Daniels latched onto a loose ball in the penalty area and neatly slotted the ball home. After sustained pressure NWHS then added a second from Ben H after some dogged running down the leg-wing. NWHS continued to pressure until the final whistle and finished the game comfortable 2-0 winners. A great result for the NWHS with strong performances all over the pitch.
